How We Work
Government must move faster– spend smarter, build quicker, plan better, and launch boldly– to deliver the results people expect and change the planet requires.
Our approach centers on breaking down bureaucratic barriers, streamlining complex processes, and doing our best to copy and paste others’ proven public policy approaches into the environmental arena. We work side-by-side with Federal, State, local, and Tribal leaders to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in permitting, procurement, and project delivery. We utilize technology, data, and collaborative problem-solving to accelerate project planning, implementation, and outcomes. We work to dramatically reduce permitting timelines, unlock funding more quickly, expand private finance in the achievement of public goals, and remove public health threats – like lead pipes – faster.
Why It Matters
The speed of environmental threats– climate change, ecosystem loss, water crises– far outpaces traditional government action. Yet decades-old regulations, risk-averse agency cultures, and outdated processes often mean that even the most urgent, beneficial projects are delayed by years of paperwork and procedural hurdles. However, making government more nimble and responsive is not just about the magnitude of the challenge; it’s ensuring that government can deliver on the needs and expectations of its people, which is fundamental to the health and legitimacy of any democracy.
