Maria Sevillano

Water Data Manager

Maria joined EPIC in 2025 as a Water Data Manager, where she supports cross-functional initiatives between the tech and water teams aimed at advancing equity in water infrastructure funding and driving community-level benefits. Before joining EPIC, Maria was a data scientist at Virga Labs, where she applied her expertise in analytics and data visualization to build tools that supported water conservation efforts across the Colorado River Basin. She brings over a decade of experience in water-related research and holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University, where her work focused on characterizing microbial populations in drinking water systems using genome-centric metagenomic analyses. Maria is based in Miami, Florida, and enjoys traveling, reading, and going on walks with her husband, two daughters, and a very energetic pup.

Get to Know Me Further

Hi there! I’m Maria. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and after spending several years in Europe and Boston, I now call sunny Miami, FL home. I’m thrilled to be part of EPIC and to put my skills to work helping make water data more accessible and meaningful for the communities that need it most. When I’m not at my desk wrangling data, you’ll usually find me wrangling a toddler, a baby, and my very clingy (but lovable) dog.
