State Updates
Louisiana’s LSL replacement access law in now in effect
As of August 1, Louisiana’s water utilities are authorized to access private property to replace the lead service lines.
EPIC’s take: 👍 Another barrier down. This new law removes a key obstacle to full LSL replacement by giving utilities clearer authority to access the privately owned portion of service lines. We’re also watching for voter approval of the constitutional amendment authorizing the use of public funds for private-side replacement. Together, these measures could give Louisiana utilities the tools they need to really kick replacements into high gear.
